No programming, no HTML codes — the Web Publisher makes creating searchable content for your Web site as easy as using a word processor. The Easy Way to Add Content to Your Internet Site

When designing the Web Publisher, our goal was to provide a quick and easy way to add content to your site. askSam lets you import existing files or create new documents without using HTML. You import or type information into an askSam database. The Web Publisher lets you place this database on a Web server and search, browse, and navigate through the information. As information in the database is accessed, askSam does an on-the-fly conversion and outputs the information for a Web browser. The information is dynamically published making it easy to edit and add new information.

To Use the Web Publisher:

• Put Your Information into an askSam Database ...

Use askSam to collect, format, and organize the information you want to publish. With askSam you can import information from other sources (texts, word processing documents, databases, spreadsheets, email messages, and more), or you can enter the information

using askSam's WYSIWYG word processor.

When askSam imports documents, it can automatically divide them into pieces. Rather than importing a 300 page Microsoft Word file as a single document, askSam can automatically divide it into sections. askSam even let's you define hypertext links to each of the sections.

• Publish Your Documents and Databases on the Internet with the Web Publisher ...

The Web Publisher runs on your Web server. It allows Internet users to browse, search, and execute hypertext links in your askSam databases. When an askSam document is accessed from the Internet, the Web Publisher automatically converts it to HTML. The Web Publisher runs with all popular Windows NT or Windows 2000 Web server software.

• Configure the Web Publisher with the WebAdmin Utility ...

The WebAdmin utility has a variety of features that let you easily configure and customize the look of your databases.

Once the Web Publisher is installed, it can be activated by a URL. This URL can come from a Web page, a bookmark, or it can be typed directly into your browser. See Starting the Web Publisher for details.
