Inserting HTML Codes in Documents
To format your Documents, askSam does not require the use of HTML codes. However, if you wish to use advanced HTML features (tables, Java scripts, or image maps), you will have to enter HTML codes directly into askSam. Use the System font 10 point when entering HTML codes. The codes will be displayed properly when viewed via the Internet.
Example: HTML codes for a table in an askSam Document

Here is the above document displayed via the Web Publisher in a browser:

You can take HTML codes generated by other programs and import or paste them into askSam. This lets you create complex pages in your favorite authoring tool and display them in the askSam Web Publisher.
If you place HTML code into askSam documents, make sure the first line of each document is text and not an HTML command. When askSam searches, the search results output the first text in a document. If this text is an HTML command, it will not display properly in the search results.
If you customize your Search Results and have fields being output, you can "hide" the fields in your documents by placing them in HTML comments.
Example: Hiding fields using HTML comments.

The previous screen shows you the HTML text as it appears in askSam. When this information appears in your browser, the fields will not be displayed.
