Formatting Your Documents

You format the documents you wish to publish using askSam 4.0 or askSam 4.0 Professional. askSam does not require you to learn any HTML codes in order to prepare your documents. You can use the standard askSam WYSIWYG word processor to format your documents, set Hypertext Links, and insert graphics.

No special formats or commands are required in your askSam documents. Any document created with askSam will display when you use the Web Publisher. But properly formatting your documents ensures that they look similar in askSam and on the Web.

When formatting your Documents ....

     Ÿ Use the standard fonts for formatting information. Not all users have a wide variety of fonts installed on their computers, so we recommend you use the standard Times Roman, Courier, and Arial fonts in your documents.

     Ÿ Use the SYSTEM 10 Point font for entering HTML codes directly into your documents.

     Ÿ Use the FORMAT - ALIGNMENT menu to center, right justify, and left justify texts.

     Ÿ Use the FORMAT - FOREGROUND COLOR and FORMAT BACKGROUND COLOR menus to set text colors.

     Ÿ Use EDIT - INSERT - PICTURE or EDIT - PASTE to insert graphics into your documents.

     Ÿ Use the FORMAT - HORIZONTAL RULE to insert a line in your document

When formatting your Documents DO NOT ....

     Ÿ DO NOT use the FORMAT - INDENTS menu to set a RIGHT MARGIN indent.

     Ÿ DO NOT change the default tab stop settings (a tab is translated to 5 spaces).

Documents containing the formats mentioned above are displayed in the Web Publisher. Any unsupported formats are ignored.
