askSam:  Tell us about your organization and your role within it.

FRANTISEK SEVERA: Bank Pro Team Corporation is one of the major softwarehouses and IT solution providers for clients in the governmental, financial and healthcare sectors in the Slovak Republic. A substantial and still growing part of its revenue comes from consulting services, such as management consulting that is part of my responsibilities.

askSam:   Which of our product(s) do you use and what kind of information do you have in your askSam database(s)?

FRANTISEK SEVERA: I am currently using askSam for Windows Professional, release 3.0G, single user version. Almost all of my askSam databases have something to do with consulting.  They contain mainly research notes, support material, references and similar data.

askSam:  Why did you select askSam over other products?

FRANTISEK SEVERA:  Since my first acquaintance with askSam some ten years ago, I have found, as so many askSam users, that it became an indispensable part of my  professional and personal life. I need to confess that in spite of constant desire to treat my askSam databases as production and experimental ones practically all of them are in fact experimental. I really want to know, what the dolphin is thinking about. So, in contrast to all other software programs and systems I have ever been choosing and using, it is the askSam that stays with me. I cannot stop playing this Info Game (see example askSam database).

askSam: In what ways has askSam helped you in your daily routine?

FRANTISEK SEVERA: Consulting is about what askSam is about - gathering a lot of data, ordering it in a proper way, and then selecting it in order to pick the right information. The longer you do consulting the less routine you'll find.  askSam has built-in what Phil Schnyder calls "freedom of choice". So, since I am using askSam, I have a lot of fun asking Sam.

askSam: How has askSam saved you time or money?

FRANTISEK SEVERA: Time is money. But saving time is not always saving money. I found it worthwhile to spend adequate time thinking about ways to use askSam - starting from the expected result and going back to the design of the entry form. Planning allows me to save a lot of time I would otherwise spend looking back and forth through data with questionable results.

askSam: What applications do you plan for askSam in the future?

FRANTISEK SEVERA: Information has become one of the most important assets. Being aware of the great difference between data and information, I would like to conceive an engine for the modeling of transformational systems. This is why I am looking forward to the new 32-bit askSam version that will allow for programming.
