askSam: What is your role within your organization?
PATRICIA HILL: As Program Coordinator for my user group, I keep abreast of current computing trends, new software on the market and updates to existing software. At the same time I have to know our members' likes and dislikes as well as their computer expertise and experience level.
askSam: Which askSam product do you use and how are you using it?
PATRICIA HILL: I am using askSam for Windows. In an effort to attract the most meaningful presentations to our user group, I maintain an askSam database containing information on other user groups within my geographic area (New Mexico, Arizona and California). These areas are just a short plane ride away. When I book a presenter for my user group, I am able to locate other meetings held within a day or two of mine. I alert the presenter in case he or she wants to address more than one user group in a trip. I also notify my counterpart in those user groups to let them know that a particular vendor is in the area on any given date.
askSam: How has askSam made your job any easier, faster or more efficient?
PATRICIA HILL: The learning curve was fairly narrow. I had a little database experience, but not much. I can build reports to my liking extremely quickly.
askSam: Can you tell me about what kind of customer support you have received as a user?
PATRICIA HILL: I haven't needed customer support! I was able to accomplish my tasks using either the manual or on-line help.
askSam: Would you recommend askSam and why?
PATRICIA HILL: I would definitely recommend askSam to anyone with a database requirement. It's fast and easy to use even for the novice. This is key. It's a software package anyone can use, from novice to expert.
