askSam:  Tell us about your organization and your role within it.

MITCH JACOBS: JFS is a non-profit, United Way- and Jewish Federation-funded community agency, providing a variety of services through Career and Employment Services, Clinical, Gerontology, Adoption, Resettlement, Food Pantry, Emergency Assistance, and School consultation programs.  I supervise and develop the Job Search Resource Center, and provide one-on-one career counseling to Dallas/Ft.Worth unemployed, underemployed, and employed people.

askSam:  What is your work environment like?

MITCH JACOBS: We staff 25 full and part-time employees and supervise dozens of volunteers in a multi-office suite

askSam:  Which of our product(s) do you use and what applications have you found for askSam?

MITCH JACOBS: askSam Pro 3.0; I use the Contact database to conduct daily business and make referrals for clients.

askSam:  Why did you select askSam over other products?

MITCH JACOBS: askSam seems to be more intuitive to use and creating reports is easier than Access database.

askSam:  In what way has askSam helped you in your daily routine?

MITCH JACOBS: It has provided me with an easy means to store contact information and a fast and thorough way to retrieve that information.

askSam:  How has askSam saved you time or money?

MITCH JACOBS: It has increased the number of referrals I can make for my clients within a given session, giving my clients more added value to each session.

askSam:  What applications do you plan for askSam in the future?

MITCH JACOBS: I am currently developing a "Clinicians Handbook", using links and the command line for navigation.  This will enable me to compile all relevant clinical information and enable fast access to information on diagnoses and treatments for mental health practicioners.  Information was downloaded from the Internet.  I am reorganizing this information and creating relevant links for quick browsing of contents.
