_______
askSam: Dr. Brown, what is your role within your organization?
JIM BROWN: I am an associate dean of the Indiana University School of Journalism. I direct the program in Indianapolis.
askSam: Which askSam product(s) do you use and or/and teach in the School of Journalism?
JIM BROWN: I use askSam and Web Publisher
askSam: Do you use askSam yourself? If so what are your applications? Also, can you tell us how you see askSam being used by journalists?
JIM BROWN: I know of at least three Pulitizer prizes that used askSam as an information manager. askSam is an electronic version of the reporter's notebook. Since information in any form can be entered or imported into an askSam file, it is ideal for keeping notes from a journalistic interview or investigation.
askSam: How has askSam made your job any easier, faster or more efficient?
JIM BROWN: It is much easier to find the information I need.
askSam: Can you describe the implementation of our education licensing program within your organization and was pricing a factor in deciding to use our products?
JIM BROWN: Journalism and four other schools have formed a consortium and have purchased askSam and Web publisher for the use of faculty. Pricing was the major factor.
askSam: Can you tell me about what kind of customer support you have received as a user?
JIM BROWN: Customer support has been excellent and generally prompt.
askSam: Would you recommend askSam and why?
JIM BROWN: Definitely. I have been recommending askSam since 1989. It is one of the best Windows products on the market.
askSam: What applications do you plan for askSam in the future?
JIM BROWN: I plan to develop a Network cookbook.
