askSam:  Mr. Kirkpatrick, what is the nature of the project that you and others at RS Information Systems provide for the General Services Administration?  

BILL KIRKPATRICK:  RS Information Systems, under contact for the GSA, provides assistance to the vendor community in the development, processing and implementation of electronic product catalogs for use on the GSA-Advantage! Online Product Catalog and Product Procurement System.

askSam: How did you discover the askSam family of products?

BILL KIRKPATRICK: As a VAR for Mustang Software, we became aware of askSam when Web based text search software became a requirement for the project.  We discovered that the askSam Web Publisher was approved for use with the MSI WINS products.

askSam:  Which askSam product(s) are you using and how do they fit into your project?

BILL KIRKPATRICK: We are currently using askSam Pro and the askSam Web Publisher to process and display informational and data files related to the Vendor Support Center and GSA-Advantage!  RS Information Systems develops and publishes the informational text and data files that are required by our customers for the development and implementation of their electronic catalogs.

askSam: How has askSam made your job any easier, faster or more efficient?

BILL KIRKPATRICK: The askSam products are quick and easy to implement. Their capacity to publish word processing and spreadsheet files proves quicker and easier than manual conversion; plus posting electronic information has considerably reduced the requirements for publishing paper documents.

askSam: Would you recommend askSam to others and why?

BILL KIRKPATRICK: Already have!  The askSam products are easy to install and use.  The additional file filters have made publishing various file formats quite a bit easier.
