askSam 5.1 Improves Email Import and Adds Ability

to Structure Imported Documents

Perry, FL -- askSam Systems is now shipping version 5.1 of askSam, it's popular free-form database software. askSam lets you turn different types of information into full-text searchable databases. askSam can create databases from unstructured information such as email, resumes, legal texts, government regulations, research notes, and correspondence, as well as structured information such as spreadsheets and databases.

askSam 5.1 improves askSam's ability to easily create searchable archives of your email messages. askSam imports email from Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape, PocoMail, and IMAP email clients.

In version 5.1, askSam not only searches the text of your email messages, it can also search the text of attachments (including files from Word, WordPerfect, HTML, and Adobe Acrobat).

askSam is a powerful tool for managing unstructured information. askSam 5.1 improves askSam's import features by integrating with TextPipe, a utility that lets you process and structure texts and HTML files that you import into askSam. For example, you can bring in files from Lexis, Dialog, or Web pages and turn them into searchable databases. TextPipe is an add-on utility for askSam.

askSam Systems has also released a free database viewer. The askSam Viewer allows everyone to share information collected in askSam databases with colleagues, clients, and coworkers. The Viewer is well suited for sharing large collections of documents, research notes, or other searchable databases.

askSam 5.1 provides significant improvements to askSam's ability to import and organize email and other unstructured information.

Pricing:

askSam Version 5.1 Standard is available at the price of $149.95. askSam 5.1 Professional is available for $395, and includes all the features of version 5.1 plus programming and full-text indexing.

Upgrades:

For owners of askSam 5.0, the upgrade to askSam 5.1 is free. Owners of earlier askSam versions can upgrade to version 5.1 for $89.95 Standard to Standard, or $99.95 for Professional to Professional, or $139.95 for Standard to Professional versions.

Requirements:

Runs on Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000, and XP. Requires a minimum of 30 MB disk space.
