askSam 4.1 Enhances Email Import Features

and Adds Database Hosting Option

     Perry, FL  askSam Systems is now shipping version 4.1 of askSam, its popular free-form database software. askSam lets users easily turn different types of information into full-text searchable databases and publish these databases on the Internet. askSam can create databases from unstructured information such as email, resumes, legal texts, government regulations, research notes, and correspondence, as well as structured information such as spreadsheets and databases.

     askSam 4.1 enhances the features for importing email into askSam. In addition to import filters for Microsoft Outlook and Eudora, askSam 4.1 now imports Outlook Express and MBox mailboxes(Netscape, PocoMail, Unix email clients, and more). The new version interprets HTML formatting in email, and allows you to import either partial or full email header information.

     New hosting options allow users to easily publish their askSam databases on the Internet. The databases can be password protected or generally accessible to any Internet user. By simply FTPing a database to the askSam server, the database is accessible from any Web browser. Internet users can search, browse, and execute hypertext links in an askSam database. The askSam database hosting service starts at $50 per month for up to 50 megabytes of storage for askSam databases. Users purchasing askSam 4.1 receive two months of free hosting.

     With the ability to easily import files and publish them in searchable databases on the Internet, askSam makes data warehousing simple and affordable for small businesses. Users are able to publish large amounts of information and knowledge on-line without programming or intensive support from an IT staff.

askSam Version 4.1 Standard is available at the price of $149.95. askSam 4.0 Professional is available for $395.00. askSam 4.1 Professional includes all the features of version 4.1 and adds full-text indexing to askSam's searches. Using askSam Professional, hundreds of megabytes and thousands of documents can be searched in seconds.

Upgrades:

The upgrade to askSam 4.1 is free to all current askSam 4.0 users.

Owners of earlier askSam versions can upgrade to version 4.1 standard for $89.95 or to askSam 4.1 Professional for $139.95.
