askSam 6 Simplifies Organizing Information

Upgrade Adds Folder View For Organizing and Analyzing Information

Perry, FL -- April 14, 2005 -- askSam Systems is now shipping version 6 of askSam, its popular free-form database software. askSam lets you organize, search, and analyze both structured and unstructured information. askSam can create searchable databases from different types of data, including email, word processing documents, Web pages, PDF files, spreadsheets, and other databases.

askSam 6 offers a completely new way for askSam users to organize and navigate their information. With the Dynamic Folder View, askSam lets you place your information in folders and sub-folders. Unlike most folder implementations, askSam Folders are displayed dynamically. You select a field in your database and askSam builds the Folder View based on the contents of this field. You can easily change the field that defines your Folder View and display your information organized in a different set of folders.

In version 6, you can save Web pages directly from Internet Explorer into askSam. You can choose to save the current Web page, or you can save the current page as well as linked pages. askSam allows you to enter a title, keywords, and notes about the pages you save. Web pages can be saved into Entry Forms that you create. You can define specific fields that are relevant to the information you gather. For example, if you were saving resumes, you might want to have fields for applicant name, address, phone number. If you were saving research, you might want fields for author, title, publisher, etc.

askSam's new Browser View displays Web pages just as you would see them in your browser - complete with graphics, formats, and frames. You can switch between the Browser View and askSam's Document View (where you can fill out fields in your Entry Forms).

askSam 6 includes dozens of other enhancements that simplify and improve the product. A 30-day Trial Version of askSam 6 is available on the company's Web site http://www.askSam.com.

"askSam is an essential part of my software tool chest. I can research and collect data from anywhere and any source. Once it is in askSam I can edit, rearrange, organize, and search the information easily. Then I can present it and make it totally useful for other people via the web or CD. Fantastic!"
