askSam 3.0 Turns Information from the Internet into Personal Databases

Perry, FL - Nov. 7, 1995 - Use of the Internet is rising rapidly and the amount of information on the World Wide Web has dramatically increased during the last year. According to askSam Systems President, Phil Schnyder, "Use of the Internet will continue to grow, and tools like askSam will become more important to corporations and individuals as they try to sift through and organize the increased flow of information. With this in mind, we have extended askSam's capabilities in several important directions".

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is the "language" of the Internet. askSam's new HTML import capabilities enable you to import and archive any information you find on the Internet. When importing HTML documents, askSam retains formatting and hypertext links. askSam also automatically imports any graphics included with the document. You can turn home pages, product brochures and any other information into personal databases, and use askSam's lightning fast searches to locate what you need.

With more people accessing the Internet, the need to create documents to place on the Internet also increases. Beginners can now create documents in askSam and export them in HTML format without having to learn complicated HTML commands.

askSam includes sample forms for home pages, press releases, product information, and more to make it easy to create HTML documents.

Eudora is one of the most popular e-mail packages on the Internet. A new import filter lets you directly import the contents of your Eudora e-mail into askSam and turn it into a valuable personal database. Downloaded messages often contain words like "To:", "From:", "Date:", and "Subject:" askSam automatically uses these words as fields which allows you to search, sort, and even create reports from your e-mail.

Also new is the Internet Desktop, a set of pre-defined applications for managing Internet information in askSam. The Internet Desktop lets you archive e-mail, newsgroup messages, HTML files and more. All of these applications are easily customizable and can be adapted to fit your particular information.
