Simple and Inexpensive Way to Put Information on the Internet

Perry, FL - July 24, 1996 - askSam Systems announced a new service allowing users of the askSam database system to publish their databases on the Internet for as little as $29.95 per month. Using the askSam Web Publisher technology, askSam databases placed on the Internet can be browsed and searched using any browser (Netscape, Mosaic, Microsoft's Internet Explorer, etc.).

Phil Schnyder, President of askSam Systems, commented, "As companies look for ways to publish information on the Internet, we wanted to offer an inexpensive and simple alternative. Rather than forcing a company to install its own Web server, we give them the option of creating a virtual Web server on our Internet site. This is a less complicated and less expensive way for companies to get a presence on the Internet."

askSam offers companies several options for placing information on the Internet. The most inexpensive option allows a company to place a 1 MB database on the Internet for $29.95 per month. More advanced options allow companies to create their own virtual Web server with up to 10MB of disk space for $100 per month and a one time $395 setup fee. With a virtual Web server, a company has its own domain name (for example acme.com), e-mail accounts, daily backups, security options, and free technical support.

Allowing companies to place their askSam databases on the Internet saves them the trouble and expense of converting their information to HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). HTML is the format used for documents on the Internet. Although it is easily mastered by Webmaster and Internet gurus, HTML is tedious and complicated for most users. askSam does not require users to know HTML. This greatly reduces the cost and time required to create and maintain content for the Internet.

Schnyder adds, "A lot of small and medium sized companies want to get on the Internet, but they don't have the time, resources, or staff to setup their own Internet site. askSam fills an important niche by providing them a simple, inexpensive way to publish their information on the Internet."
