SurfSaver - The Searchable Filing Cabinet for Web Pages
New product from askSam Systems Now Shipping
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 28, 1998
Perry, Florida -- askSam Systems is now shipping SurfSaver, a new product which will benefit people using the Internet for research. SurfSaver lets you store Web pages directly from your browser into searchable folders. Once saved, you can quickly search and browse these pages (even when you're not connected to the Internet).
According to askSam Systems President, Phil Schnyder, "Numerous on-line surveys have found 'gathering news and information' to be the main reason people use the Internet. With SurfSaver we provide users a way to organize the news and information they collect."
SurfSaver creates a searchable archive from the information you gather on the Internet. Powerful searches let you quickly locate specific Web pages. SurfSaver supports full-text, Boolean, date, proximity searches, and others.
SurfSaver provides researchers and packrats a simple way to permanently store Web pages. If the original Web page changes or disappears, they'll still have a copy of the information - an important feature given the "here today, gone tomorrow" nature of Web pages.
SurfSaver is not a replacement for a browser; it integrates seamlessly with your current browser. When you find a page you wish to save, right click the mouse and choose the SurfSaver Save command. The page is immediately saved with text, graphics, frames, and hypertext links.
"The Internet has changed the way students, professors, analysts, journalists, and businesses gather information. It's by far the most comprehensive, easy to access source of information that has ever existed. With SurfSaver, we provide online researchers a valuable tool to make more effective use of the Internet" says Schnyder.
