Data Elements for Emergency Department Systems (DEEDS) in Searchable eBook

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mar 31, 2006

Perry, FL -- A free, searchable database of the Data Elements for Emergency Department Systems (DEEDS). DEEDS is a set of guidelines developed by the The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) to promote uniform specifications for data entered in emergency department (ED) patient records.

The recommendations in DEEDS, Release 1.0 are intended for use by individuals and organizations responsible for maintaining record systems in 24 - hour, hospital-based EDs throughout the United States. If the data definitions, coding conventions, and other recommended specifications are widely adopted, then incompatibilities in ED records can be substantially reduced.

The text from DEEDS has been imported into a searchable, hypertext-linked askSam database. The individual sections are divided into separate documents in the database. This allows you to easily locate sections pertaining to specific topics.

The askSam version allows you to search, browse, and analyze the text from DEEDS. You can either view the text on-line, or you can download the searchable version with the free askSam viewer at:
