Developers
askSam Database Engine and Active Server Pages Create GAMEproducer.com
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 15, 2000
Perry, FL - The game industry's first primarily business-to-business site will launch in only a few weeks and has just entered its beta phase. GAMEproducer.com is a new website that connects game publishers with top game developers. Specifically designed for the gaming industry, GAMEproducer.com allows publishers to quickly and easily send an anonymous project proposal to hundreds of qualified developers. GAMEproducer.com facilitates the communication between these parties, simplifying and speeding up the way that the game industry buys and sells development services.
GAMEproducer.com, a joint venture between SR-71 Game Scouting and askSam Systems, will be the industry's leading on-line marketplace, revolutionizing the way the interactive entertainment industry buys and sells development services. Jerod Kirby, Managing Director of SR-71, says "GAMEproducer.com is allowing all publishers access to the world's best developers. This will increase the overall quality of computer and video games, as the best developers will now be working on projects most appropriate for them."
GAMEproducer.com provides publishers and developers with a mechanism and resources to issue electronic Request for Proposals for video and computer game development. Phil Schnyder, President of askSam Systems says, "With GAMEproducer simplifying the process of connecting game publishers with talented developers, industry professionals will have more time and resources to devote to making great products. By filling out a single form, a publisher can put their project in front of hundreds of qualified developers. It's a win-win situation – the publisher can quickly reach the top development talent, and the developer can choose from a wide variety of interesting projects."
GAMEproducer.com also offers publishers a developer database - the DevBase™ - with detailed information on leading developers worldwide. The DevBase™ is the industry's most thorough database of developer information, including descriptions of their track record, capabilities, and capacity. In addition, GameRes™ provides a fundamental employment resource for developers and publishers to locate and screen appropriate personnel.
GAMEproducers.com was programmed using the askSam database engine in conjunction with Active Server Pages (ASP). Using askSam, users can easily search the site to match publishers and game developers according to their areas of expertise. This system runs on Windows NT servers running Microsoft Internet Information Server software. Users access GAMEproducer with a standard Web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, and others). GAMEproducer also runs over a standard TCP/IP network connection.
