We are now shipping askSam 6, a new release of the world's most
popular free-form database. This is a MAJOR new product upgrade.
For the first time, askSam has a folder interface that lets you
organize and browse through your information. You can find

askSam 6 is one major milestone - another is our 20 year

1) askSam 6 is here...
askSam 6 offers a completely new way for you to organize and
navigate your information. With the Dynamic Folder View, askSam
lets you place your information in folders and sub-folders.
Unlike most folder implementations, askSam Folders are displayed
dynamically. You select a field in your database and askSam
builds the Folder View based on the contents of this field. So
you'll be able to use this great, new feature with your existing
databases.
askSam 6 also lets you save Web pages directly from your browser
(Internet Explorer) into askSam. The new version also have a
Browser View that lets you view saved Web pages in askSam as
they appear in your browser.

2) askSam 20 Year Anniversary
askSam was founded 20 years ago by Mack McKinney and his
wife, Bea. Last week in an email to me, Bea wrote:
"Twenty years ago (April, 1985), Mack and I were assembling
askSam DOS 1.0 in our living room / office at 538 Parade Drive
in Corpus Christi. We had just returned from Austin where we
picked up our first printed manual. Wow! It's amazing that
askSam is 20 years old! Here's to askSam Windows 6.0!!!"

to make it for 20 years. Thanks for - using our products;
sending product suggestions; telling your friends/colleagues

3) ZoomInfo - Find the Latest Information About People.
ZoomInfo is a free on-line service that delivers useful
summaries of information about people. ZoomInfo claims that they
information on more than 25 million people. I've used the site
quite frequently to look up information on people I plan to call
or meet (it's nice to be informed).
Since the information is gathered on the Web and the summaries
are produced by computers (not people), ZoomInfo is not always
100% accurate. I also found it cumbersome when searching for
people with very common names (Chris Collins).
Nonetheless, ZoomInfo is a quick and often times remarkably
accurate way to gather quick biographical information about a
person.
