A new version of SurfSaver is nearly ready for release. You
are welcome to try out the Beta version. The new version has a
much-improved interface along with other new features. (details
below).
Wade Goodman, our Product Manager, is now "talking" to askSam
using voice recognition software and shares his experiences.
For those with an interest in U.S. politics, we set up an
askSam database with a searchable version of John Kerry and
John Edward's "Our Plan for America". It's a free download.

In 1998 we released the first version of SurfSaver. At that time
several of us had noticed our reading habits switching from
print media to the Web. Being packrats, we wanted a way to save
the information we were reading.
Six years later, we are getting ready to release a major upgrade
to SurfSaver. With a much-improved user interface, more
convenient searching and saving, and other new features,
SurfSaver 6 is great tool for anyone doing on-line research.

At a recent computer show, Wade got a lesson in voice
recognition and found that it worked MUCH better than he'd
imagined. Whether dictating notes into askSam or dictating

I would describe Bob Trubshaw as prolific. I barely manage
to write this newsletter, so I was awed when I read his email
listing the books and CDs he'd authored. His works include local
history, folklore, and mythology - all researched using askSam
and SurfSaver.
