Saving Articles without the Clutter with SurfSaver

There is no doubt that reading articles on the Web is convenient. SurfSaver adds to that convenience by allowing you to collect and search your articles. However, at times, Web sites try to use the page for way too much information - that has nothing to do with the article you are reading.

Many news and magazine sites now offer printer friendly version of the article. A printer friendly version of an article is a cleaner version of the original article usually located on a different Web page or in a pop-up window.

Before saving your next article look for a link to a printer version of the page you want to save. This option is not available on every site and is labeled differently on each site that provides the feature. Be on the look out for links such as "Printer Friendly", "Print Version", or "Print this Article". Most any link with that name will provide you a clean version to use to save your article in SurfSaver.

For example, when viewing a typical article on CNN.com I can only see two or three paragraphs of the actual article.

However, if I choose "Print This" I get a second window that pops up with another version of my article. I then right mouse click on this new version of my article and save the clutter-free copy to my SurfSaver folder.

That is much better.
