What's New in askSam Web Publisher 5
Below is a list of the exciting new additions we've made to the version 5 Web Publisher.
New Features in Version 5 Web Publisher:
ź Support for Attachments.
askSam 5 lets you attach original files to documents. The new Web Publisher displays these attachments in a browser and users can open these files by clicking on the links.
ź Hypertext links to Attachments.
askSam 5 lets you create Hypertext links original files in the document. The new Web Publisher displays these links in a browser and users can open these files by clicking on the links.
ź Advanced Customization of the Attachments Hypertext Links.
With Web Publisher 5, you can customize the appearance and placement of Attachments Hyertext Links. You can place these links anywhere in the page.
ź Sorting of the Search Results.
askSam 5 lets you sort the search results. The new Web Publisher displays these search results for your Web Searches.
ź Advanced Customization of the Search Results.
Web Publisher 5 lets you customize the Search Results Page. Search Results page can now be customized to display the Search Results in muliple columns with advanced formatting.
ź Support for Documents with extra margin.
Web Publisher 5 lets you specify the width of the Web page. Documents with extra margin are now displayed in a browser without a horizontal scrolling bar.
ź Search for Hypertext Link.
askSam 5 lets you create hypertext links that search for the linked text. You can search for the linked text in the current askSam file or in another askSam file. Use this feature to look up information or find related documents in the current database. The new Web Publisher supports this feature.
New Features in Version 4 Web Publisher:
ź Support for Multiple Fonts and other formatting enhancements.
Web Publisher 4 supports multiple fonts, background colors, indents, and styles. Your documents will look virtually identical to the original askSam documents.
ź Multiple Views for Customized Search Results.
askSam lets you define multiple views for search results. Web Publisher 4 displays these search results for your Web searches and lets you customize the search results page.
ź Add from the Web directly into an Entry Form.
Save data from a Web-based form into your askSam database. Web Publisher 4 can save data into your Entry form -- with the formats you've defined in the form for each of your fields.
ź Better Header/Footer Customization.
We've added commands that give you added flexibility in your headers and footers. Customize the buttons, commands, and texts that appear at the top and bottom of each page.
ź New WebAdmin Utility.
The WebAdmin utility has a completely new interface as well as additional functionality:
i. Copy settings from an existing file to new files that you are adding.
ii. Customize your search results.
iii. Easier navigation through aliased files.
ź # of Hits.
Web Publisher 4 lets you see the number of hits retrieved by a request (only in indexed files).
ź Highlight Hits In Document.
Web Publisher 4 highlights your search term when going to the full document so you can easily see all occurrences of your selection.
