Question I am unable to uninstall due to a corruption on the system. What can I do to get my installation removed from my system?
OR
I removed askSam via a different method other than 'Add/Remove Programs' and now I can't do a clean install. What can I do to straighten this out?
Answer Please follow the manual uninstallation instructions below:
Resolution
1.) Retrieve a copy of the Microsoft's Windows Installer Cleanup utility that is available at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301
This tool will clean up any msi package on your system. Note that you do need administrative privileges to use this tool. Run this tool, and use it to remove the msi part of your installation.
2.) Run regedit.exe, and delete the key under:
H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield Uninstall Information\{8229615F-1C7F-4572-B289-34E59A2B7BD0}
3.) Run windows explorer, and go to the hidden directory:
\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{8229615F-1C7F-4572-B289-34E59A2B7BD0}
and delete it.
4.) Lastly delete all files/directories/shortcuts installed by the setup.
You should now be able to do a clean installation of askSam on your system.
