Question Are there any restrictions on where I can store databases? Can I store my databases on a folder of my choice on the server? If so, how?

Answer There are no restrictions on where you can store the databases on the server. As long as your databases reside on the same server as where Web Publisher is installed, there is no problem.

Yes. You can store your databases on a folder of your choice. There are a few steps involved in this.

1. Web Publisher by default looks for databases in the folder below. C:\Program Files\askSam\askSam5\

2. To change the default folder for the databases, go to Web Publisher Adminstrator and click on "Install" link on the left.

3. Enter the folder path in the "Default Directory" box and click Submit Changes button.

"askSam is an essential part of my software tool chest. I can research and collect data from anywhere and any source. Once it is in askSam I can edit, rearrange, organize, and search the information easily. Then I can present it and make it totally useful for other people via the web or CD. Fantastic!"
