Question

When I try to open the SurfSaver .ASK files in askSam 3.0, I get the message "Not an askSam file"... what's happening?

Answer

SurfSaver is based on the askSam 4.0 engine. Since this engine uses 64-bit file addresses, askSam 3.0 does cannot open the files. In addition, we are saving the HTML in a special format (to perserve all the formatting), this is a feature that was not supported in the askSam 3.0 engine. We plan to include features in askSam 4.0 which will allow you to open and search SurfSaver files.

"askSam is an essential part of my software tool chest. I can research and collect data from anywhere and any source. Once it is in askSam I can edit, rearrange, organize, and search the information easily. Then I can present it and make it totally useful for other people via the web or CD. Fantastic!"
