Question

How do I merge two askSam files into one file?

Answer

You must open your first file and export it out.  Then open your second file and import the file just exported to the end of the file.

Resolution

Use the following steps:

1.  Open file A

2.  Choose File -> Pack.  Choose Close when the pack is complete.

3.  Choose File -> Export -> Entire file

4.  Select RTF files under File type

5.  Select Set Options and Click on String.  Enter in @@ in the box.  Choose OK.

6.  Name the file out.rtf and choose OK.

7.  When the export is complete, open file B

8.  Choose File -> Pack.  Choose Close when the pack is complete.

9.  Choose File -> Import.

10.  Select  RTF files under File type.

11.  Choose Set Options and Click on String.  Enter in @@ in the box.  Select Remove Delimiter String.  Choose OK.

12.  Choose the out.rtf file and choose OK.

13.  File A will import to the end of the file

"askSam is an essential part of my software tool chest. I can research and collect data from anywhere and any source. Once it is in askSam I can edit, rearrange, organize, and search the information easily. Then I can present it and make it totally useful for other people via the web or CD. Fantastic!"
