Question
How can I insert tables in the Web Publisher?
Answer
Since asksam version 3.0 does not support tables, you will need to enter the HTML codes for the table directly into the askSam document.
Resolution
askSam cannot directly import tables The editor in askSam 3.0 does not support tables.
The good news... although we can't automate the process, with a little bit of manual effort, you can display tables via the Web Publisher.
When we designed the Web Publisher, we included a feature which let's you insert HTML into your askSam documents. This HTML code is then passed from the Web Publisher to your browser. It allows the Web Publisher to support any feature which HTML supports.
If you wish to bring tables into askSam, you can simply use the Clipboard to paste the HTML code from any HTML file, into your askSam document. Then highlight the HTML code and make sure that it is in SYSTEM 10 FONT. When the Web Publisher encounters a text in SYSTEM 10 FONT, it knows the information is HTML and passes it to the browser.
If you are importing an HTML file (containing tables) into askSam, do not import the file as HTML -- import it as TEXT. This will keep the HTML codes. Then simply select the document in askSam and choose the SYSTEM 10 FONT. It will look ugly in asksam (you'll see the HTML codes), but it will display perfectly in the Web Publisher (tables and all).
