Question
How can I get graphics into the Web Publisher?
Answer
You can either use the clipboard and paste them in, or you can use the EDIT -> INSERT GRAPHICS command.
Resolution
askSam cannot directly import graphics into askSam from word processing files. Only the RTF import filter will import graphics (BMP graphics).
The good news... although we can't automate the process, with a little bit of manual effort, you can easily display graphics via the Web Publisher.
To get graphics into askSam, you have two options:
1) You can use the Windows clipboard and paste a graphic into your askSam document (simple copy and paste).
2) You can use the EDIT -> INSERT GRAPHIC... function, and you can import a wide variety of graphic formats (BMP, PCX, TIFF, GIF, JPEG, and more) into your askSam documents
You don't need to concern yourself with the format of the graphic. askSam automatically handles converting graphics to a format that will display in a Web browser.
NOTE: You will need to make sure that you pack the file (FILE -> PACK) with the following option turned on: "Save OLE Objects for Web Publisher" ... this option can be found in the OPTIONS -> GLOBAL PREFERENCES -> HTML dialog.
For more information on both these topics, see the Graphics chapter in our Web Publisher manual.
