Question How can I import Netscape Mail?

Answer There are two different ways to do this. See below for a full set of steps.

Resolution 1: Use Windows Explorer to find your mailbox. It should be under

Program Files\Netscape\Users\Your Name\Mail. In this folder, there will be several files and file types. There will be a file without any extension on it that matches the name of your Mailbox (In, Out, Personal, ect). Make a copy of this file in a temporary folder. Then add a .txt to the end of the filename. Import it into AskSam using:   - From

as the document delimiter.

2: Do the above but before importing into AskSam, use a utility called Mail2text (or something similar) to strip the long headers out of the file. It's available through the developer, T. Gitlin, http://www.erols.com/tgitlin

There should be a version available that addresses Netscape directly. After stripping the headers from that file, import it into Asksam using To: as the document delimiter.

"askSam is an essential part of my software tool chest. I can research and collect data from anywhere and any source. Once it is in askSam I can edit, rearrange, organize, and search the information easily. Then I can present it and make it totally useful for other people via the web or CD. Fantastic!"
