Question When I try to import files into askSam, all I get is a link to the original file. Why didn't it import the document as a part of my database?

Answer This is because the correct import filter was not used.

In version 5, we have added an import filter that will allow you to create a hyperlink back to the original file, or import the file as an attachment, if desired. This import type is called 'Any File - Link or Attach Only'.

If this import type is selected, askSam will automatically generate a link back to the selected files.

Resolution

In the IMPORT screen, select the file type that corresponds to the type of file that you are attempting to import.

For example, if you want to import MS Word documents, choose 'Microsoft Word 95, 97, 2000 (*.doc).
