Topic Freezes when attempting to Import

Question askSam freezes whenever I try to Import. I have to close the program via CTRL+ALT+DEL.

This issue could be caused by optimization issues with buggy video drivers from the video card manufacturer. This can be resolved by lowering your hardware acceleration. Bringing this down causes your machine to depend less on the hardware manufacturers's video drivers, and more on Windows core software drivers, which are much more stable.

You can adjust your hardware acceleration by following the steps below:

Resolution

Windows 95/98/2000/ME

1. Click START, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double- click Display.

2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.

3. Click the Performance tab.

4. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider one notch to the left

5. Click OK, and then click OK.

Win XP

1. Click START, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double- click Display.

2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.

3. Click the Troubleshoot tab.

4. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider one notch to the left

5. Click OK, and then click OK.

Now try to import into askSam. If the program freezes, go back into Display properties and move the Hardware Acceleration slider another step to the left.
