Question My SurfSaver folders are not showing up when I go to search for them.
Whenever I create a new SurfSaver folder, it just dissapears.
Answer The reason for this is because SurfSaver was not able to write a specific key in your registry during the installation. This may have been caused by a program that may have been monitoring your registry, such as an anti-virus program.
Below are the steps to manually enter this key.
Resolution
---------------------------------------------------------------
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. askSam cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
---------------------------------------------------------------
First, close any applications that you might be running, including Netscape or Internet Explorer.
1. Go to START > RUN and type "regedit". This will open the Registry Editor.
2. Go to the directory HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > askSam > Stealth. If you do not see "Stealth", right-click on the askSam folder and choose NEW > KEY and name the new key "Stealth"
3. Click the plus sign "+" next to "Stealth" and you should see "4.0" and "Import". If you do not see "4.0", right-click on the "Stealth" directory and choose NEW > KEY and name the new key "4.0"
4. Next, right click on the "4.0" directory and choose NEW > STRING VALUE and name the new value "Base Path".
5. Now collapse any registry directories and close out of the Registry Editor.

Now, open your browser and choose SurfSaver Search. You should be able to see your folders in SurfSaver now.
