Question

When I do a search, my folders don't appear at all. What happened?

Answer

The archive attribute has somehow been taken off of these files.  It is usually caused by some backup programs not properly re-archiving the files.

Resolution

Follow these steps to retrieve that data:

1. Open your Windows Explorer

2. Go to the directory where your SurfSaver files are located. (The default is: c:\Program Files\askSam\SurfSaver\Files)

3. Highlight all of the files in that directory

4. Go to File -> Properties

5. Check the Archive attribute and choose Apply.

Restart SurfSaver and you should once again see your files.

"askSam is an essential part of my software tool chest. I can research and collect data from anywhere and any source. Once it is in askSam I can edit, rearrange, organize, and search the information easily. Then I can present it and make it totally useful for other people via the web or CD. Fantastic!"
