Question

I get an error message when I try to spell check. The message is something like "CAN'T ACCESS DICTIONARY FILE"

Answer

The askSam dictionary files have become corrupted.  To remedy the problem, you will need to download a copy of the latest dictionary files.

Resolution

A copy of DICT.ZIP is available on this web site on the Downloads page. Download the file, and copy it into your askSam for Windows directory.  Unzip the file and overwrite the already existing files.  Enter askSam and try your Spell Check again.

"askSam is an essential part of my software tool chest. I can research and collect data from anywhere and any source. Once it is in askSam I can edit, rearrange, organize, and search the information easily. Then I can present it and make it totally useful for other people via the web or CD. Fantastic!"
