Question How do I delete files from the recently opened files list in the FILE menu or in the askSam startup OPEN window?
Answer This recent files list contains the last 8 askSam files you opened. These files will eventually be cycled off as you open more askSam files. The only way to clear out this information is by deleting it from your system registry.
Resolution
These items can be found under the registry key:
Version 6
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\askSam\Windows\6.0\Asksam\Recent File List
Version 5
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\askSam\Windows\5.0\Asksam\Recent File List
Version 4
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\askSam\Windows\4.0\Asksam\Recent File List
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. askSam cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
To access you registry editor, click START > RUN, type 'regedit' and press ENTER. This will open the Registry Editor. Browse to the 'Recent File List' directory. Right click on the string value for the file(s) you want to remove from the list, choose Modify, and delete the file path from the Value Data. After you have done this, collapse any open directories and close the Registry Editor.
Now the next time you launch askSam or access the file menu, the deleted files should be missing from the list.
