Topic Browser tries to download as_web*.exe and webpub*.exe

 Applies_To Web Publisher

    Version 3.x, 4.x, 5.x, 6.x

Last_Update April 6, 2006

Question I just installed Web Publisher on a Windows 2000 server. When I go to access the file published through the Web Publisher, the browser tries to download the As_Web*.exe to my local drive instead of displaying me the document in a Web Browser.

Answer This happens when the Scripts Directory (or the directory where Web Publisher is installed) does not have permissions to execute CGI programs.

Resolution Follow these directions -

1. Open the Internet Information Manager.

2. Right Click on "Scripts" Directory(Or any other Directory where Web Publisher) is installed.

3. Uncheck Read & Write Options.

4. And Select "Scripts & Executable" options from the list.

This will take care of the problem.
