Question

I used a proximity search to look for two words that appear five words apart in a document.  There is at least one document in my file that has these two words five words apart from each other, but in doing the search, I get "No Matches Found".  Why does this happen?

Answer

The proximity search will find the words as long as there is not a blank line, created by hitting the Enter key twice, between them.  A "No Matches Found" message will appear if there is such a line between the words

Resolution

To find words that have a blank line in between, use a Paragraph structure instead of a Word structure.
