1) AfterVote - A great new way to search the web
I'm always looking for more efficient ways to search the web.
AfterVote got my attention.
AfterVote is a search aggregator that combines results from the
big three search engines (Google, Yahoo!, and MSN) and ranks them
for you.
But that's not all. The search results page shows you how each
result ranks in each of the major engines. It also shows the page
rank, Alexa ranking, and Diggs number. Best of all you can sort
your results individually by search engine or ranking (Alexa,
Page, Diggs, etc.)
This search engine does have a social side allowing you to rank
and view other user rankings for each site. There is also
automatic ranking and blocking of blacklist sites to make results
more accurate.
Each result offers some great features like one click voting,
quick bookmarking, archive and whois lookup, as well as the
ability to manually block unwanted sites so they do not turn up in
future searches.
It's just good searching.

5) Cool Uses for askSam - Questionnaire Database
Recently askSam was used to create questionnaire database for a local organization. The questionnaire database housed the
responses of over 500 members to a survey distributed by the
organization. The survey consisted of multiple choice questions
as well as essay style questions. askSam and the "QUESTIONS"
template (provided free with askSam) was the perfect solution.
askSam provided easy input of data using entry forms and
picklists. Once entered the ability to track response, search the
full text of answers and create demographic reports of the
information was easy.
The automatic export of search results to Excel made it easy to
transfer key data to a spreadsheet for charting.
The final result was an extremely efficient tool to analyze,
search, report and extract information from hundreds of pieces of
