We'll focus this week on important documents from the US
government. A great website for searching important government
documents for geneology, veteran information, and many other
historical research needs. Plus, a copy of the US Constitution in
a free askSam eBook.

conducted by the United States Federal government, only 1%-3% are
so important for legal or historical reasons that they are kept
forever.
Those valuable records are preserved and are available to you,

researching an historical topic that interests you.

6) Cool Uses for askSam - Make a Master Menu
Wouldn't it be great to have quick access to all your askSam files
and other information from a central location?
Use askSam to make a master askSam menu - it's simple. Create a
blank file (database) in askSam (choose FILE -> NEW & select "Go
To Empty Database"). Use the front page of this database as your
master menu and set hypertext links to commonly used items. With
hypertext links you can create shortcuts to...
- Other askSam files
- Specific documents in other askSam files
- askSam searches in other files
- askSam reports in other files
- Automatically add a new document with an Entry Form
- Any askSam Menu Command
- Pull up askSam attachments
- Specific Web Pages
- Open an Email to a specific person
- Load specific files in other apps (Word, Excel, PDF, etc)
- Open pictures, audio and video directly from askSam
To set a hypertext link simply highlight the text where you want
to set the link and press F4 (or choose DOCUMENT -> SET HYPERTEXT
LINK). Choose where you want go from the list of options.
You can even make sub-menus - just add a new document to this
database (DOCUMENT -> ADD OTHER -> BLANK) and create another
hypertext menu. Name that document using DOCUMENT -> PROPERTIES
and return to your main menu to set a link to the document name.
