researching more than 10 million articles from hundreds of
sources.

1) FindArticles - Where to Look for What You Need
Wouldn't it be great to be able to locate an article on any
topic you need?
FindArticles has articles from thousands of resources, with
archives dating back to 1984. That means you can search for
exactly what you need, from millions of articles not found on
any other search engine.
Select a specific publication up front, or start with a general
search and then include or exclude publications. Insert new
search terms as needed to pinpoint the most relevant results.
Then sort results by article date, length, relevance or
publication name. It's all very easy to do.
If you own askSam 6 or higher or a copy of SurfSaver, research
articles you find are easily saved into a searchable database
with a single click. askSam is a perfect tool to collect all the
research information you gather on FindArticles.

2) askSam 6.1 Tip - One Click Transfer to Excel
askSam 6.1 contains a great new feature for transferring search
results directly to a spreadsheet. This is a perfect solution
for anyone needing the capabilities of a free-form database but
also the need to do more analysis of information in a spreadsheet
format.
With this feature you can import or type information into an
askSam database, customize your search results, perform a search
using any of askSam's powerful search options, and then simply
click the transfer icon to place the results into your spreadsheet.
After clicking the transfer icon on the Search Results icon bar a
new spreadsheet will open with the data that was displayed in the
askSam Search Results. You can use your spreadsheet to format,
calculate, and analyze the information.

3) System Cleaner Customization Tips
In the last Surf Report we offered a new product, System Cleaner
(http://www.askSam.com/systemcleaner.asp) to tune-up your
computer. We were impressed with System Cleaner's all-in-one
tools to optimize our system. It easily cleans and repairs
unnecessary files, broken links, registry problems and more.
For askSam users, System Cleaner can be customized to clean-up
askSam specific files such as...
.SAV - backup files created after packing.
.AS5 - backup files created after upgrading (.AS4, .AS5, .A60)
.CRP - backup files created after a system crash
To remove these files, or any other custom files...
1. Open System Cleaner
2. Select "CLEAN-UP AND REPAIR" from the left panel
3. Select "DISK CLEANER" from the main window
4. Select the "OPTIONS" link
5. Select "TYPE OF FILES" from the left panel
6. Select "ADD TYPE"
7. Type the extension you wish to add
You can also exclude files. For example, I like to keep my .BAK
backup files from packing - my most recent backups. To do this I
simply exclude that extension from the list.
Another great feature of System Cleaner is the ability to clean
duplicate files. Duplicate files not only waste hard drive space
and bog down your system but can also cause confusion.
To clean duplicate files from your system select the "OPTIMIZE AND
IMPROVE" option in the left panel. And choose "DUPLICATE FILES."

5) askSam Custom Applications: Turn RSS Feeds into Databases
RSS (Real Simple Syndication) is a popular format for publishing
information. Using the askSam Engine you can turn these feeds
into full-text searchable databases.
