Tuesday, March 14, 2006
Do you know what it takes to make you a healthier person? The
problem is that everywhere you go there is more and more
conflicting information about how to live a healthy life. This
week we have a solution from the Department of Health and Human
services.
Also in this issue, a new eBook in conjunction with the U.S.
Dept of Health and Human Services - Data Elements for Emergency
Department Systems (DEEDS). As well as a searchable version of
the "National Strategy for Victory in Iraq" from the National
Security Council.
We're continuing our special offer on Counterspy, our favorite
anti-spyware application and there are still a couple of seats
available for our March askSam training. Plus, custom web
solutions - the State of Florida Department of Revenue uses
askSam.

1) HealhierUS.gov - Helping Americans live healthier lives.
If you just look at the numbers, it can be overwhelming. Obesity
is epidemic in the United States. In recent years, diabetes
rates among people ages 30 to 39 rose by 70%. About 46.5 million
adults in the United States smoke cigarettes, even though this
single behavior will result in disability and premature death
for half of them. More than 60% of American adults do not get
enough physical activity, and more than 25% are not active at
all.
Yet if you talk to Americans, there is hope. They say they
generally know what will make them healthier, but they are
confused about what specific information is credible and
accurate. HealthierUS.gov will be that source of credible,
accurate information to help Americans choose to live healthier
lives.
