Welcome to the Surf Report. In this month's newsletter I'll rant
a bit about the hype surrounding the Internet and technology.
Hype tends to drive me crazy... and although I'm not from
Missouri, I can relate to the "Show Me" attitude for which
they're famous.

I saw a new Oracle press release about saving billions of
dollars by using their technology. I'm sure they have numbers
to back this up, but this kind of hype makes me hang my head in
shame. Why can't tech companies live with the fact that the
technology "revolution" is really just "evolution". Technology
really can help companies and individuals work more efficiently
... isn't that enough?
