| I'm sorry, but this is currently a limitation of askSam's editor. There is no way that I know of to enter Chinese characters into askSam.
This is something that might be possible with a future version of askSam. |

| Yes, you can use the conditional IF statements when creating a Mail Merge document. These behave the same as they would in a report. The IF statement command can be found under the MAIL MERGE > IF STATEMENT.. menu when editing your mail merge document. |

| I recommend trying the latest build of SurfSaver 6.1:
<a href="http://www.asksam.com/asksam6/build805/SurfsaverSetup.exe">http://www.asksam.com/asksam6/build805/SurfsaverSetup.exe</a>
You should also go to TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS, click the ADVANCED tab. Scroll down to the section for "Security" and make sure the setting that says "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer" is CHECKED. |

Importing AOL email into askSam

| Hi guys,
I just stumbled across an interesting AOL help article that might be useful to askSam users who are also using AOL.
It looks like AOL is loosening up a little, and are now allowing users to download email into different email apps, which could be beneficial to askSam users
In the past, the only way to import AOL email into askSam was to go through some kind of a 3rd-party app that would translate AOL's proprietary email format into something you could download into Outlook ... |

| This product has not been tested with askSam.
If you are not able to import directly from OpenOffice, you might be able to save your documents to a format that askSam is able to import, such as Rich Text Format (*.RTF) or Plain Text (*.TXT).
Perhaps some other users on this forum can share some of their experiences importing from this application. |

| You can create SurfSaver folders from within the SurfSaver "Save" dialog box. You can find these icons in the upper-left corner of the screen.
SurfSaver "folders" are askSam databases that contain your saved websites. "Cabinets" are the containers that you use to store your SurfSaver "folders".
What you see in SurfSaver as a "folder", is actually a database file with an ASK file extension. For example, if you have a SurfSaver folder named "Newspaper articles", you will have a datafile ... |

| The current version of askSam (6.1.2.805) runs well on Windows Vista.
At the moment, we have encountered only one compatibilty issue, and this is regarding the "Save Web Page to askSam" right-click option in IE. We are currently working on a fix for this problem, and will be releasing a patch which addresses this soon. |
