http://www.asksam.com/Forums/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3088
is'nt fixed.
Still I get the message, after given the instructions in the import-form and before import, "Unable to save askSam document"; after a while the import status ends with 0 doc's imported.

Use IE tab, a firefox extension, as a workaround:

| 3. | Re: Firefox - 7% and growing Posted by willem on 3/8/2006 3:32:01 AM Hi Ben,
Rcently I found "IE Tab" as a Firefox extension. With that you start the IE engine, without leaving Firefox; the page is shown up in a new tab. The Surfsaver save-functions (save, quicksave and save in askSam) work now in Firefox.
For the brwoser search function you have to start IE of use IE view.

| 4. | Re: Severe Problem with Headers & Footers Posted by willem on 2/10/2006 12:37:00 AM Chuck,
The same problem here. But I have it only the first time when I try to make header or footer in a document. With the second try it succeeds.
I encounter it in report making too, and with entry forms. Second time it's okay.
The bug appears both in usig the folder view, or not.
Can't help you. Lets hope, the askSam tech's put this on teh buglist.
When will there be a a bug-fixed, stable askSam ... |
| 5. | Re: Asksam compatibility with Unix Posted by willem on 2/10/2006 12:42:54 AM Ben,
There was once, a year or two ago, a beta version of askSam for Linux. Where is that gone? Is the development stopped?

You can try the software "Autohotkey" (in combination with the Windows scheduling function) for scheduling tasks in askSam.
I use it, in particulary the macrorecorder, with askSam. So every day askSam shows me the things to do; Windwos scheduled tasks starts Autohotkey and that starts in an askSam-file the appropriate report or stored search. You can make executable files of the recorded or programmed scripts.

| 8. | Re: search text field Posted by willem on 1/2/2006 9:11:27 AM A pity. I did'nt notice this thread earlier.
See the German forum for an answer.
The problem is a bug in askSam.
The bugs:
- the whole document is a proximity for the field search; every [van de*] is counted as a result.
- the command, which is a proximity search, must be more specific for a field search.
The field search has a bad command. It is {fir} [van de*] {vic c1vv[}.
And it must be: ... |

"However, searching for an expression like ABC XY* in Field_1[ will output a hit even if
Field_1[ doesn't contain that expression — on condition that the complete expression exists in any other Field of that document. "
With the condition that the first part of the expression (here: ABC) exists in the field_1[.
In regard to "the whole document as the Vicinity (or Proximity)": if the condition is true, it does'nt ... |
| 10. | installation webpublisher 6 - localized version? Posted by willem on 7/27/2005 4:20:07 AM The new webpublisher 6 installation causes the same error as the installation of version 5, on my Dutch windows system (XP2). This US/EN version can't be installed.
For the 5 version there was an international version. Will a non US/EN version be released for 6 too? When?
Regards,
Willem

| 12. | Re: Changing hyperlink structure Posted by willem on 2/20/2004 3:50:23 PM If you have placed the text of the hyperlink in the document-text, then you can use "replace". But you have to replace the hard-coded link manually:
- place the cursor directly after the hyper-text in the document;
- press spacebar;
- the the link-code has changed.
Use a macro recorder (like perfect keyboard) for this job.
