I don't experience this problem in general. But on certain conditions the highlighting disappears for me too.
It often happens after closing those nasty Tools & Properties Windows (cf #9417).
Also after executing Tools | Reset Screen Layout | Current File. Possibly, this has to do with |

There's no way to change that functioning. The work-arounds I could figure out are...
1. to split the document into two or more documents so that there are no more than 100 hits in each section.
2. to start a Local Search (Ctrl+F) inside the selected document in order to find more than 100 hits inside of the active document.
3. to use the Show Command and to output n words on either side of word or phrase (with 'All occurrences' option).

I'm no expert in that matter but I have to confirm your observations:
I've copied a paragraph from your PDF and pasted it into AS5. In AS5, it is possible to format the text with Arial CE and to display it correctly, i.e. according with the PDF.
When pasting the text into AS7, many characters get lost, and there is no access to Arial CE.
Strangely enough, it's displayed correctly also in AS7 when I copy the text from ... |

If the field contents is a number, the output will not be embraced with quotes if the number has nine or more digits:

"Locked by another workstation" -- this has been reported since 2005 (see #5753, for example). If I'm not mistaken, we've never got a definite answer to this problem from the developers so far. There is a hint from Kevin in #8075 but obviously no solution.

AS7 Build 140/141 introduces a new "file property that allows the user to choose which pane, Document Properties, Attachments, or Tools, will be the default view."
The idea isn't bad, but the way it's designed is not acceptable.

If we jump from a Report output or from the Search Results Window to the related (or selected) Document, the Document Counter immediately displays the correct Document Number.
This also happens when navigating with those small arrows on the left of the Status Bar.
But — as described by Guido — the Document Number doesn't get updated when navigating with the View | History commands.

Like Paul, I can't confirm these problems. For me, the date sorting has always worked fine. So I've tested the date sorting again with the date format 02. Feb 2009 and didn't have any trouble to sort it correctly.

What I've had in mind so far was the sorting of a Report Output on a date field. Your example 2009 in edit[ showed me that we also have to regard the sorting of the Search Results Window (SRW).

I've checked this issue again and I think that Julian has actually detected a bug that - as far as I can see - has never been reported before.
You may test it with Paul's datetimesort.ask. I've revised it a little bit: The Default View of the Search Results Window now sorts on the date[ field. Since Julian combines dates and time, I also included the
time[ field as second step of the sorting.

Julian is right -- there's still another bug in the sorting of the Search Results Window (SRW).
So far, we discussed it only from the aspect of a Field Search or a Date Search that was executed from the Search Line. Up to build 139, the SRW didn't display a correct sorting according with the settings in the Customized View of the SRW. That's OK now -- you managed to fix this bug with build 140/141.

This issue has been fixed incompletely. Build 131 is dealing correctly now with substrings following a diacritic character. So rica isn't selected any more as part of América when searched as a whole word.
It still doesn't work, however, with substrings preceding a diacritic character. For example...

This is possibly one of the many shortcomings of the AS Editor. Is there a chance to fix it although the Editor won't be changed in any way?

In June, Wade promised to care for this bug. But nothing happened so far...
Once in a while we may see a previous search term. But it isn't really reliable. In AS6, it worked fine.

We have been discussing this issue since June 2008 (build 132). In July 2008, this bug was pointed out again by Marsoe with post #9079. Although you promised to care for this problem, it still isn't fixed in build 141.
Once in a while, search terms are randomly stored. But in general, this useful feature doesn't work. In AS6, this bug didn't exist.

I'm sorry for having been unprecise. This wasn't meant as a matter of limitation but of exchanging elder items with newer ones! The list will always be limited, of course. It would be useless to display some hundreds or thousands of items here...
In other words: After storing 30 items, the list isn't refreshed any more (by exchanging #1 with a new item etc.)

It should be possible to edit the Search Line in order to repeat one of the recent searches. For me, the list to be opened here contains 30 items. But after that, AS7 doesn't add new search terms to this list any more.
These items are stored in the Registry in the Command Line key. In this key, the list ends with an empty #31. There are no recent search terms stored here.
